Has anybody besides me seen a new increase of purples chests?

I used 7 shiver keys i believe and resulted in only 2 golds, and i'd say i've witnessed 5 other purples by my team members (3 from shivers, 2 from fire islands)

Have purple chests receieved a recent increase? or has the gold chest rate gone down?

P.S. *i searched for this and couldn't find another thread so i made my own, if there is another thread out there like mine i apologize*

I think the gold rate has gone down but thats just me *sigh* so hard to make money these days

for real oneandonly...i buy 5 shiver keys from a person at 200g off of merchant thinking i can find just 1 low req gold and sell unid or id it and get good mod or something...*thinks back to the time he used an elonian key in the desert and found a gold holy staff unid-ided it and found 9 pct all skill recharge, +5 insight, +29 health, req 12 divine favor-b4 the AOE date when this stuff was high...still thinks he could have gotten more than the 40k he sold it for*

Its all luck just like any drops are. In farming you are investing time to get random drops. With chest you are investing gold.

Never know what you are going to get. One thing I do believe is that certain skins and weapons are found in different areas.

umm dude if you farm too many chest you get your rate lowered so aftter 2 or 3 weeks go back out and try again

monk...i haven't opened chests in say mayb a month or so until the above...all above was done in 3 days...

twicky yeah, certain skins in certain spots like crystalline in *was it uw or fow?*

and chaos axe in fow

*could list many others but doesnt wanna hurt himself trying to recall em all*

I've noticed that as well, although the only keys that I've been using have been Phantom, Obsidian, and Shiverpeak when they drop. I only just recently started to use the Shiverpeak keys and more often than not they're popping purples. I think I'm better off just selling the key for the 300. I cycle through a number of places which I would assume keeps that anti-farming code silent.

Who knows, luck is luck I suppose.

I had never found any gold with shiverpeak keys, nor miner.

Only tried one phantom, it was purple.

Tried couple obsidian, the result is much better. (gold 80% of the time?)

now days, the only chest I would actually buy key for, are the obsidian.

chests suck these days..
they've gradually become either purple or nonexistent.

i almost never even see gold armors pop from chests anymore, and when they do it's almost invariably some worthless major rune

ah, i remember the good old days when there were actually chests outside of deldrimor! that was where i found my very first sup vigor =)

about a week and a half ago, i found a superior absorption from a chest in the footprint. but that was about the last good drop from a chest that i can remember getting lately.

Almost all my gold armor drops have been majors lately.

I have also seen a lot more purple chests lately. And if there is a anti-farming code to keep you from doing that, how does it take the group into consideration? If I have been farming too much, and go with a group of people who never farm, do they suffer because of my farming? Doesn't seem to make sense.

I am generally pretty disappointed in the golds I get out of underworld. They are usually mixed profession requirements and boosts.
I got a pretty nice max dmg gold long sword last night with crippling and +29 health...but no inherent mod. Sure I could just try to salvage the mods, but I like to see weapons with lots of mods stacked up on them.

In any case I am just going to chill out on chests for a bit and see what happens.

I use to buy a key before I went out on a run outside war camp, because theres always a chest at the end of the run. But I found that all I got were purples that worth worth 50g to a merchant. So I decided to quit wasting my money buying keys, and only use them now if they drop for me.

Silly keys, what were they thinking?

Being that my second home has become the Underworld these days, I haven't noticed any issues with the chests there. Lets say I do enough runs to hit 10 chests ... i'd estimate 8 out of those 10 are gold, and the other 2 are purple.

Seems normal to me, but that's the only area I really chest. Obsidian keys = too dang expensive o.O

with ya 100 pct zaklex, just a person was discounting em 200g off of merchant so i like "WHY NOT" since i know i had chance of at least scoring a decent mod...

Now i just take what keys drop (which aint bad when i take my tank and farm the trolls and giants of talus)
